Rules of various formats of online poker games vary somewhat from each other. For example, in a typical seven Card Stud Poker, total four betting rounds are there apart from the final showdown. Out of the seven cards dealt, whoever has the best 5 card poker hand, is the winner.

5 Card stud is similar to seven Card Stud. In fact, the former is played by the same rules, with up to 10 players. The major variation is that only one card is dealt face down to each poker player instead of two; there are 2nd, 3rd and 4th streets, plus the River.

7-Card Stud is a Limit game. To begin with, every player posts an Ante. This is a forced bet to get money in the pot before further betting takes place.

On the other hand, in Omaha poker community card format is used. Playing members get hole cards. They need to generate a hand by using cards turned over in three different segments - the flop, the turn, and last one, the river. Hi / Lo split & High only are the two types of Omaha poker. It can either be structured limit or no Limit / pot Limit.

Omaha and Texas Hold’em are played mostly with 5 community cards. In the former, each poker player receives 4 hole cards (and not two). At the time of final hand, a player has to use accurately 2 of the cards.

While making a hand, a player may bring into play 6 various hole card combos, so one gets some idea if one’s hand will turn out to be a successful one. You are not so certain about Hold’em in this regard.

Most of the limit games (Texas Hold’em) include a three bet limit every round. In the No Limit and Pot Limit version, there’s no limit on the number of raises that a poker player can make.
