A recent survey by American Gaming Association (AGA) states that there has been and increase in the number of online gamblers and online casinos in America. The report comes even as various groups are protesting against the growth of online casinos and gambling industry. According to the survey, the average American gambler is a under 40 year old male. Over 70% of the gamblers are at least college graduates. Majority of the online gamblers that took part in the survey said that they had switched to online casinos from land based casinos due to the convenience that they give. Most of the people in the survey stated that they had started gambling online just recently around two years ago. The online gambling industry has grown tremendously during the last few years. The total revenue generated last year by the online casino industry crossed $12 billion.

This year’s survey confirms that the U.S. commercial casino industry has continued to grow despite the significant obstacles of the past year, and has become an integral component of America’s entertainment culture,” said the President of AGA, Mr. Frank J. Fahrenkopf Jr.
